Theme:Partnership Project
Grant Received:£700,000

The International Bomber Command Centre in Lincolnshire serves to recognise and remember the sacrifice of the 57,861 people who gave their lives and over a million others who served in Bomber Command during the Second World War.

The UK’s tallest war memorial, the same height as the wingspan of a Lancaster Bomber, stands surrounded by a Wall of Names, honouring those who lost their lives protecting our freedom.

Biffa Award’s grant of £700,000 supported the creation of interactive and immersive exhibitions bringing the history to life.

We’re really pleased to be able to support the International Bomber Command Centre. The centre will pay respect to those who served at Bomber Command and allow visitors to explore the personal stories of the men and women who played such a vital role in our history - Rachel Maidment, Biffa Award Grants Manager
