Since its inception, thanks to the New Deal for Communities programme, Back on the Map have done amazing work to make Hendon and Sunderland building a community stronghold.
The kitchen was initially intended for use by staff only. However, with the development of services and increase of the activities on the site, the kitchen was being regularly used by various groups, and its domestic appliances were not really up to standard. The site only had one toilet.
Biffa Award granted the project £27,482 for removal of existing kitchen and installation of a new kitchen and creation of a new toilet.
Now the users of this space can cook up a storm in this brand new social kitchen.
