The Baring All at Budby project improved the quality of heathland at RSPB Budby South Nature Reserve. Funding enabled the exposure of bare ground to provide new homes for rare healthland wildlife – encouraging some rare and specialist wildlife to flourish. Features included insect amphitheaters and bee banks as well as a new grazing infrastructure across the reserve. New fencing allowed traditional heathland management using iconic longhorn cattle to continue – not only benefiting wildlife, but also maintaining the landscape.
