Fact File
St Budeaux Church Community Hall gives local people a place to meet, a place for leisure and a place for learning.
Despite being well-maintained over the years, damage to the roof was causing significant damage to the hall below. In bad weather, sessions had to be abandoned and volunteers were called in to place buckets to collect the rainwater!
Vital funding was granted by Biffa Award. £52,775 was used to fully fund a pitched roof replacement including scaffolding, removal of existing covering, checking timbers and replacement where necessary, new torch-on felt roofing fully bonded with bitumen, new flashings and gable ends.
The new roof will sustain the long-term future of the hall and ensure that it remains open and accessible for the many users who rely on it.
